PLUS Coalition Names PicScout Exclusive Provider

PicScout Technology Enables Image Recognition for the PLUS Registry

October 15, 2009 - Silicon Valley and Pasadena, Calif - PicScout, the market leader in worldwide image services and enabler of client image monetization and identification activities, and PLUS Coalition, the international non-profit standards body to the image licensing industries, today announce that PicScout will be the exclusive image recognition services provider to the PLUS Registry, utilizing the PicScout ImageIRC.

As a service of the Picture Licensing Universal System (PLUS), the non-profit PLUS Registry will allow image users to easily and quickly identify the rights holder and license information associated with any image. The PLUS Registry will serve as a secure online hub, linking registries, companies, license information and images using PicScout’s proprietary image recognition technology and unique PLUS-IDs, which are similar in concept to identification systems used in other industries, such as UPC codes and ISBN numbers.
