PicScout Continues Expansion of ImageExchange™ Service with Veer, Superstock, and Vivozoom Images Joining more than 40 Agencies Indexed via ImageIRC™
Stockphoto Agencies Add Collections to ImageIRC for use with ImageExchange to Present Licensable, Credited Images across the Internet
Silicon Valley, CA– June 9, 2010 – PicScout™ announced today that Corbis’ Veer, a Bill Gates company, has contracted to deliver microstock images through PicScout ImageIRC™ (Image, Registry, and Connection) platform to ImageExchange™ users around the world who use the Web for image selection.
Joining Veer are Superstock and Vivozoom, representing even more rights managed, royalty free and microstock images. These new clients benefit by assuring that their images are appropriately credited every time they’re seen anywhere online—at a website, within marketing collateral, in a Google or Yahoo image search, Facebook, or Twitter, for example.
ImageIRC continues to grow with tens of millions of images automatically recognized, credited and prepared for immediate licensing by global ImageExchange users. ImageExchange users recognize images for sale, because they see an “i” icon every time they encounter ImageIRC images. One click reveals the creator’s name and the license type, and another connects them to license and use images immediately.
“PicScout ImageIRC allows us to reach new image buyers and extend our availability to our current customers via an uncluttered user experience and a cost efficient outreach marketing program. We are pleased that our images will be recognized and licensed wherever they’re seen,” said John Cosley, VP Online Marketing and Customer Engagement for Veer.
“We are delighted to be joining PicScout ImageIRC for use with ImageExchange, and very much looking forward to its success,” said Lawrence Gould, CEO of Vivozoom. “I believe this represents the first real opportunity the industry has to tackle the massive problem of casual image theft/file sharing brought about by the stripping of the metadata from images before web publishing. Image IRC offers a solution, making buyers aware of who owns the copyright and therefore able to purchase the image they want, as now they can find the image licensor.”
“We pride ourselves on our reputation for excellent customer service. With ImageIRC providing our images through ImageExchange, we’ll be able to give our clients a great tool for finding and licensing our collection of Rights Managed and Royalty Free imagery,” said Lanny Ziering, CEO of Superstock.
“Every week PicScout ImageIRC grows to credit more images and deliver them for licensing to image buyers everywhere. We welcome Superstock, Veer, and Vivozoom into the fold of leading agencies worldwide using our services to promote and protect their images. Together with our content partners, we will achieve Every Image Gets Its Credit,” said PicScout VP Marketing and Business Development Amy Love.
